DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join us for our January EPCCC Meeting!\n \nTo be held via Zoom\n \nTuesday, January 12, 2021  11:45 AM – 1:00 PM\n \n “Legislative Update & State of the Massachusetts Estate Tax”\n \nSenator Julian Cyr, Massachusetts State Senate, Cape & Islands District, will provide us with a Legislative Update & State of the Massachusetts Estate Tax, including a discussion of his proposed legislation to Mitigate Snowbird Relocation, which would raise the estate tax exemption amount from $1 million to $2 million.\n \nJulian Cyr serves in the Massachusetts Senate representing Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. First elected to the State Senate on November 8, 2016, Julian is now serving in his second term and is the youngest senator in the 40-member body. He is the Senate Assistant Majority Whip, Chair of the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery, and serves on committees with oversight of health care policy, public health, municipalities and regional government, and education. \n \nPrior to his election, he served as director of policy and regulatory affairs for environmental health at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Previously, under Massachusetts Governor Deval L. Patrick, he worked closely with members of the Legislature as deputy director for government affairs at the Department of Public Health.
